First Trimester 6-13 weeks of pregnancy
The first prenatal visit is as early as 6 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period. Then every 4-6 weeks until 20 weeks. You will be referred for your prenatal lab panel which includes blood and urine testing screening for blood type, antibodies and rules out possible infections, possible anemia, sickle cell trait, and may include genetic screening tests. You will also be referred for your first trimester ultrasound.
Second Trimester 14-28 weeks of pregnancy
You will have a visit every 4-6 weeks until 20 weeks, then every 4 weeks until 28 weeks. Your Anatomy Screen ultrasound is due around 20 weeks gestation and provides a lab panel which includes blood and urine testing which screens for gestational diabetes, anemia and any infections.
Third Trimester 29-41 weeks of pregnancy
You will have a visit every 2 weeks up to 36 weeks, then every week until delivery. Your third trimester is due around 32 – 36 weeks gestation and checks on your baby’s development as well as position in the uterus. You will be seen in the office for your 36 week lab test as well as pelvic exam which includes blood, urine, and vaginal cultures screening for anemia and any infections, including group B Streptococcus. After 37 weeks for full chart including labs and reports will be forwarded to your hospital of choice ready for your delivery while you continue your prenatal care through our service with our providers.

PREGNANT IN CENTRAL FLORIDA We know how difficult it is to find a maternity care provider in our area. Not everyone takes Medicaid/Managed Care insurance or is willing to work with self-pay patients for a reasonable price. Additionally, if you are advanced in your pregnancy, whether you have prenatal records or not, most providers will not accept you.
Our goal is to calm your concerns, get you started with prenatal care and set up for your hospital delivery as soon as possible – we will not turn anyone away, that’s why we are called the “Easy Access” Clinic!
NATURAL BIRTH AND WATER BIRTH IN A BIRTHING CENTER We offer natural birthing services and water birth with midwives in our community birthing center ‘The Birth Place’ in Winter Garden, Florida. If you are interested in out of hospital birth with a same day discharge home we are happy to talk to you further about personalizing your birth plan. This option is for low-risk, healthy pregnant women who are not looking for epidural or other pharmaceutical pain relief for labor.
WOMEN’S HEALTH CARE (GYN) We offer a women’s health care clinic providing well-woman care, screening and prescriptions for STD/STI infections, and limited family planning services. There is a serious and ongoing need for access to women’s health care in our community which particularly impacts those with the greatest need for services. It has long been known that women need health care support during pregnancy but also in-between babies in order to remain healthy and have the best possible outcomes when they do conceive.

Be part of the solution: Introducing the Commonsense Childbirth Safety Net Fund: Circle of Support
Join Jennie and the Commonsense Childbirth team – let’s leave no family behind!
Families today are living through a maternal health crisis. The risks are not shared equally. Black, Brown, rural, and low-income mothers face the highest barriers and the greatest disparities. Too many of these outcomes are preventable.
For more than two decades, Commonsense Childbirth has proven there is a better way. Through The JJ Way®, we’ve built a model of care rooted in dignity, compassion, and access. And the results speak for themselves: healthier mamas, stronger babies, thriving families and empowered communities. We provide essential resources and wraparound care, and we train, support and embed trusted community providers and midwives in areas of highest need.
Today, we invite you to become a founding member of the Commonsense Childbirth Safety Net Fund: Circle of Support. Together, we can confront the crisis, sustain the solution, and build the future our families deserve.
We are dreaming boldly with a goal to raise $100,000 by December 31st.
